Companies which were surveyed admitted that up to 15% of their entire marketing budget is spent on social media. The overall digital medium share including SEO and Ads is much more. Only 78% of companies said that they spent on social media, compared to last year.

6.  How much Budget actually spent?

All the companies that were surveyed, 23% of them shared that their budget lies between 0-10 lakh INR and 14% had budget of 10-20 lakh INR.




7.  What all are the Biggest Platforms?

Facebook is at the top followed by Twitter and YouTube for Indian brands. Google+ and LinkedIn are the ones strongly coming up and 25% of all the brands have initiated marketing on Instagram and Pinterest.

8.  Outsourcing or In-house?

Around 27% of surveyed organizations had their own in-house team for strategy and implementation of all social media operations whereas 11% outsourced the tasks. More than half of them have a hybrid model wherein both external agency and in-house team collaborate for social media. 95% said that Marketing, PR and Communications department handled social media, while one fourth % said Legal Department, 21% said HR department and 16% said IT department. However, most of them trusted external agencies for implementing social media campaigns and operations.


9.  Time

42% brands said that they require 3 weeks to ideate, strategize and execute a campaign while 32% said 2 weeks is enough. Only one said that they can deploy end to end campaign in a week.

10.  Mobile

3/4th of the respondents said that they created a blueprint of mobile applications and mobile based social media campaigns. Mobile centric campaigns which brands have initiated includes mobile apps, tablet only campaigns and responsive sites.


11.  Future of Social Media

3 biggest activities which are the future of social media are:-

  • Customized ads and Campaigns
  • Social Commerce
